Marine hull protection covers the boats and watercraft used in ministry, most commonly at camps and outdoor education centres: canoes and kayaks, sailing dinghies, rescue and safety boats, and small powered craft with their motors and trailers. It responds to accidental damage, theft, and loss while the craft are in use, moored, stored or being transported.
Liability to other people arising from the use of the craft can also be included, which is important when students, campers and volunteers are on the water. Safe operating procedures, qualified supervisors and well-maintained equipment are the foundation of water-based activities, and they also help keep claims to a minimum. Let your State Manager know when craft are added, replaced or retired so the schedule remains accurate.
